As a child's brain is growing, it is exceptionally important to balance intellectual subjects such as reading, writing and math (left brain activity) with creative art based endeavors such as dance, theater, music, visual arts, storytelling, and poetry (right brain activity). Encompassing the whole child in this manner empowers the brain's biological function, motivates student learning, bridges the learning gap, creates cultural awareness, builds self esteem, helps children cope with stress, creates intrinsic motivation, and promotes higher level thinking. Charles fowler states it best when he wrote, “The arts complement the sciences because they nurture different modes of reasoning,” and through modes of creative learning with both sides of the brain, a holistic empowerment of self growth can be developed in the child's inner life.

My goal is to foster an atmosphere where a child’s good health and awareness can develop not only in the left side of the brain but through the whole body, mind and spirit.
